About

Growing up in Los Angeles, my realist approach to life earned me the nickname “ A Real”, a nice little play off my actual name Ariel.

As a veterinary nurse I’ve spent two decades educating pet owners and new technicians, caring for animals in clinical settings, as well as volunteering with wild life and exotic animals. Now I am using that same knowledge and compassion to write engaging, trustworthy content for pet owners and professionals. When I am not helping translate veterinary know-how, I love to travel and experience new cultures and places. This blog is where my two passions mix along the way.

Whether you’ve stumbled here for practical pet tips, behind-the scenes stories, or some inspiration to pack your bags and help out somewhere new, I’m glad you ‘re here and hope you find what you were looking for.

I’m Ariel, RVT

Welcome to my little corner of the internet, dedicated to sharing my knowledge and growth as a veterinary professional and voluntourist. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician with over two decades in the field. Over the years I’ve seen firsthand how compassion, education and hands-on care can transform the lives of animals- and the people who love them. Vet med has shaped not only my career but my view of the world and how animal care looks in different corners of the globe. This blog is a place to share what I have learned ( and what I’m still learning!) about pet health, the bond between animals and humans, and the joy ( and occasional sorrow) of helping the voiceless.
